Introduction

Downloading the Program

The program is available in two editions that can be downloaded from the Downloads page of the website. To start using the program, you need to download the edition that satisfies your requirements.

The Free edition is a freeware version of the program that is free to use for personal or commercial needs but has functionality limitations. Using this edition, you can monitor up to five hosts simultaneously but cannot use specific settings for hosts. It runs as a Windows program, so monitoring is stopped if you close the UI or log off from Windows.
The Professional edition is a commercial version of the program. You can use it in the evaluation mode with no functionality limitations during 30 days. After 30 days, you have to order a license to continue using the program. This version of the program allows monitoring an unlimited number of hosts and using custom settings for hosts, if required. It runs as a Windows service, so monitoring continues even if you close the UI or log off from Windows.

To use the program successfully, you need to make sure that your computer where Ping Monitor is going to be installed satisfies the requirements explained on the Requirements page of the website.

Using Documentation

EMCO Ping Monitor Professional was designed to be a tool with an intuitive user interface that can be used by people with different levels of technological knowledge. The program encompasses an initial configuration wizard that helps you to configure the program for the first start. In addition, every interface dialog provides you with hints and clear error messages. It should help you to use the program successfully without reading this manual. Anyway, it's recommended to review the Getting Started guide to familiarize yourself with the main features of the program.

To get detailed information on the program features, settings and user interface views, browse the manual content and choose the section you want to read.

This manual describes the features of the Professional edition of the application. If you use a different edition, you can notice that some features described here are missing in your copy of the application. You can download the product manual for your edition of the application as a PDF file using the corresponding link on the left. The same PDF manual is distributed together with the application, so you can find it in the application folder after installation. Finally, you can press F1 in the application to open the manual in the Help file format.
