EMCO Remote Desktop - What's New in Version 4.2

Please note that list of versions contains only versions defined as major updates. Nevertheless, list of changes from minor and bugfix releases are represented here as changes of correspondent major update version, which actually includes these changes.

Version 4.2.1 [28 August 2009]

Version 4.2 [06 February 2009]
Three product editions	Starting from this version, product is available in three editions: Started, Professional and Enterprise. Starter edition provides only basic set of remote access features. Professional edition includes advanced remote management and some remote inventory features. Enterprise edition has all set of features, including extended inventory, export and reporting.
Improved Remote Viewer	New Remote Viewer comes with a set of important improvements. First of all, remote service installation procedure was optimized, so now service installation is much more stable on different platforms. Also, data transfer mechanism was improved to make remote desktop management even more responsive.
New PC Summary look	Now when PC node is selected in the tree, you can see new PC summary view. It includes toolbar with quick access to main actions and basic inventory information about software and hardware assets.
New Inventory Report	Inventory Report was completely reworked. Information was regrouped and reordered to improve readability and save occupied space. One of the main benefits in the new report is using colors and icons to improve visual data representation.
Resolved issues	This release contains a set of resolved issues, including most important ones, listed below: Inventory fields marked as Read Only are updated sometimes at new scan Errors during remote service installation on x64 platforms Autoupdate action executed from pop-up menu causes SQL error Incorrect Viewer menu redrawing on Vista Some hardware and software parameters are detected incorrectly Remote installation of utilities service on NT fails Potential access violation on Extract All operation Hang up when Viewer node is selected on the tree
