The Backstage view

New, simplified user interface

The new user interface is designed to simplify the management of locked resources. Now on the main screen, you can see the status of all analyzed resources and can check, unlock and delete required files and folders. The new Details pane located at the bottom of the main screen shows the status of the selected resource and a summary of the locks detected for this resource. Detailed information about all discovered locks is available in a special dialog where you can manage them.

Detect and unlock network shares locks

When a network share is created for a file or folder, the shared resource becomes locked when other users access it. The program now detects this lock type. The program allows unlocking shared resources by closing opened share handles to files and folders. Share locks are discovered automatically and displayed together with other lock types.

Version 5.0 is available

New UI, that allows to unlock multiple resources

The program has a new UI, that is designed now to unlock multiple resources at once. Now you can add multiple resources to the program to allow the program to check their locks, unlock them or delete depending on your selection. The program displays the detected problems for a selected resource and shows the processes holding the locks and also shows detected problems with permissions, so you can review results and take the required action to unlock the resource.

Check and grant permissions

In some cases a file system resource cannot be managed by a user because the user have insufficient privileges. The program allows detecting such problems. It reports the current permissions and allows to grant required permissions for the user to unlock the reource with a single mouse click.

Delete on the next boot

If you need to delete a resource the program tried to unlock it and delete then using the regular procedure. If that approach fails, the resource is scheduled for deletion on the next boot, so the action is performed earlier than Windows processes and services can lock it. That is the safe way to delete the locked resources.

Brand new UI

The user interface is completely reworked, introducing the docking windows and layouts. You can reorganize the application views according with your needs and save UI layout. Also the application has two new views: Operations Management that allows you to manage operations performed by the application and Application Log that allows you to check the events reported by the application.

Improved Process Properties dialog

The Process Properties dialog now contains performance data and a list file handles and library handles owned by a process.
