Terms and Conditions of Purchase

The following terms apply to all commercial products distributed by EMCO. Some terms depend on the license type: perpetual license or subscription. Have questions? Contact Sales

1. License Types

   The available license types depend on the product: a product can be offered with a perpetual license, a subscription, or both. The license types available for a product are shown on its purchase page.

   1. Perpetual license. A one-time payment for a specific major version of the program (for example, version 1). The license doesn't expire. Upgrades to new major versions are offered at a discounted price.
   2. Subscription. A yearly payment that includes all versions of the program released while the subscription is active, including new major versions. There are no automatic charges.
2. Terms for All Licenses
   1. End User License Agreement (EULA). By using the program, you agree to the terms of the End User License Agreement (EULA).
   2. The license is non-transferable between organizations. The license is issued to a specific company or organization and cannot be transferred to another company or organization. Only employees of the licensed organization are permitted to use the program.
   3. IT service provider usage limited to their staff. Service providers can install the program on client sites, but only their staff may use it. The program must be uninstalled after support ends. If the service provider’s client staff needs to use the program, they must purchase their own licenses.
3. Perpetual License Terms
   1. License for a specific major version of the program. The license is valid only for a specific major version of the program (for example, version 1) and doesn't expire or require renewal.
   2. The license does not cover future major versions. The license cannot be used or activated for future major version releases. A new license key is required for each major version upgrade.
   3. Major version upgrades are chargeable. Upgrades to a new major version (for example, from version 1 to version 2) require purchasing an upgrade. Previous version keys won't work with new major versions, but you can order the upgrade at a discounted price.
   4. Free major upgrades within 3 months of purchase. Customers who purchased a perpetual license within 3 months before a new major version release are eligible for a free upgrade. The existing license key will activate the new version.
   5. Minor version updates are free. Updates that change the second or third version numbers (for example, from 1.0 to 1.1 or 1.0.0 to 1.0.1) are provided at no additional cost.
   6. No regular maintenance fees. You only pay for major version upgrades if you choose to upgrade.
4. Subscription Terms
   1. Subscription period of one year. A subscription is valid for one year from the date the license key is issued.
   2. All versions included. While the subscription is active, you can use the current version of the program and all new versions released during the subscription period, including major versions and minor updates, at no extra cost.
   3. No automatic charges. A subscription is never renewed or charged automatically. To renew, simply order a new subscription.
   4. Early renewal without losing time. If you renew before your subscription expires, the new one-year period is added to the end of the current period, so you don't lose any of the remaining subscription time.
   5. Expiration. When a subscription expires, the program stops working until a valid license key is entered, either for a subscription or a perpetual license. If the program has a Free edition, it switches to the Free edition functionality instead.
5. Program Maintenance and Updates
   1. Maintenance of the latest major version. Maintenance, updates and bug fixes are provided for the latest major version of the program.
6. Technical Support
   1. Free technical support via e-mail. EMCO provides free technical support via e-mail during standard business hours. For subscriptions, technical support is available while the subscription is active.
   2. Bug fixes for the latest version. Bug fixes are provided as minor version updates for the latest major version of the program.
7. Product Delivery
   1. Digital delivery only. EMCO does not ship physical products. The product download link and license key are sent to the e-mail address provided during the ordering process. It is the customer's responsibility to provide a valid e-mail address for delivery.
   2. License key delivery. EMCO ensures delivery of the ordered license key within a maximum of two business days after order acceptance.
8. Miscellaneous
   1. Right to change purchase terms. EMCO reserves the right to update these terms at any time by posting the changes on the EMCO website https://emcosoftware.com.
